Sri Lanka's National Consumer Price Index recorded a year on year inflation rate of 1.9 percent in March 2025, showing improvement from February's 3.9 percent. The Department of Census and Statistics reported the shift as food inflation turned positive at 0.8 percent, while nonfood inflation remained negative at 4.1 percent. The NCPI index slightly declined to 206.0 in March from 206.2 the previous month. Food prices contributed a marginal 0.10 percent monthly change, while nonfood prices remained stable.
